This textbook aims at presenting theories of teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL). Particularly, it helps students to acknowledge the importance of teaching English and understand the background issues of English learners and teachers, and approaches and methods for English language teaching (ELT).
In addition, this textbook also provides students with knowledge of how to assess and test learners in ELT and design a lesson plan for different teaching purposes.
This book consists of 7 Units logically organized in terms of the sequence of knowledge. Each unit includes three parts, namely contents, discussion and further reading.
